In 1979 when I was 20, my mother brought me to see The Dinner Party by Judy Chicago, then displayed at the Museum of Modern Art, NYC. I was so impressed by the intricate craftsmanship, the blunt symbolism for womanhood and the regal stature of feminist art, that I decided to become a ceramic artist. For years I contemplated re-creating Another Dinner Party, dedicated to the women/artists who inspired and influenced my ongoing work as a ceramic sculptor.
